Japan Airlines (JAL) has launched an innovative hotel room designed to mimic the cockpit of a Boeing 767-300, offering aviation enthusiasts a unique experience, reported Nikkei Asia.

Named the JAL Cockpit Room, it is now open for guests at the Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu.

Situated on the fourth floor, the room boasts a view of the runway at Haneda Airport, enhancing the illusion of being in an actual aircraft.

The room features two authentic pilot seats and a meticulously recreated cockpit panel by the window, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the fantasy of piloting a plane.

The design of the room was a collaborative effort, involving JAL flight crew members to ensure the experience is as true-to-life as possible.

"We want guests to experience something they can't in their everyday lives," shared a JAL representative.

Priced at Y35,300 (approximately $230) per night for two guests, the JAL Cockpit Room is not just a novelty but an accessible adventure for those intrigued by aviation.

This initiative follows JAL's earlier venture, the "Wing Room" at the Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel, which replicates the cabin seating environment of the airline's passenger jets. Since its opening in 2022, the room has seen an upgrade from economy to first-class seats.

The Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu's decision to introduce a cockpit-themed room is a first-of-its-kind for the establishment.

The instrument panels used by the pilots are repurposed from obsolete parts, reflecting a commitment to sustainability.

Additionally, JAL is exploring other avenues to foster a connection between the public and the aviation world.

In 2021, a JAL subsidiary began manufacturing and selling aviation-themed products at Haneda airport, including bags crafted from onboard life vests.

The aviation industry has faced challenges, with a marked decline in air traffic due to the pandemic, leading to reduced work for cabin and ground crews and waning interest in airline careers.

JAL envisions the cockpit room as a catalyst to reignite enthusiasm for the sector and inspire a new generation of aviation professionals.
