jüSTa Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to launch its first wildlife resort, called jüSTa Lazy Haven Corbett, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand this month, as reported by BWHotelier.
This latest addition marks the 22nd property within the company's portfolio and the third property in Uttarakhand, joining Mukteshwar and Rishikesh.
jüSTa Hotels and Resorts founder and CEO Ashish Vohra said: “We are looking at building an itinerary-based business where we can offer an entire tourist circuit to the guests, allowing them to explore all the major destinations in a region within 7–10 days.
“We were searching for a property in Corbett for some time, but we wanted to steer clear of the hustle and bustle that often accompanies the wedding and party crowds that many resorts in the area attract. Hence, this property, nestled in a serene corner of the National Park, aligns perfectly with our vision of creating a wildlife resort.”
Situated in the centre of Kyari, the resort is spread across 1.1 acres of land.
It offers 24 rooms categorised as superior rooms with a balcony and deluxe rooms with a balcony.
Guests can also enjoy a swimming pool with a separate area for kids, a 48-seat multi-cuisine restaurant and a spa that is built using scrap metal and leftover construction materials.
It also provides an in-house naturalist, offering knowledge about the local flora and fauna and enhancing the wildlife experience.
The property is close to Jim Corbett National Park and situated 6km away from the state highway, accessible via village road.
It is also 9.5km away from the Bijrani Zone and 8km from the Sitavani Zone.
Vohra added: “This property in Corbett is part of our expansion plans in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, which holds immense tourism potential. We have similar plans for developing circuits in Kerala and Himachal Pradesh."
The resort separates and recycles grey and black water, composts organic waste for garden use and uses white roofs for natural cooling.
Additionally, it employs recycled bamboo insulation held in place by locally woven mats, which, along with Garhwali baskets, also serve as decorative lighting throughout the resort.
