Kempinski Hotels has signed a deal with sustainable infrastructure developer Infracorp to build a landmark hotel and residences in Bahrain.
The luxury hotel company will anchor a new development in Bahrain Harbour, positioning itself at the heart of Manama's downtown district.
The collaboration between Kempinski and Infracorp will see the rise of Kempinski Hotel and Residences Bahrain Harbour, housed in one of three distinctive towers within the mixed-use Bahrain Harbour development.
Anticipated to open by the end of 2025, the property will comprise 74 guestrooms on the upper floors and 186 Kempinski-branded residences.
“This landmark development re-establishes our foothold in Bahrain and our long-standing commitment to the Middle East,” said Bernold Schroeder, chief executive officer of Kempinski Group and chairman of the management board of Kempinski AG, in a statement.
Kempinski Hotels dropped its management contract for the 450-room Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre in June 2014 after a two-and-a-half year tenure.
The new development promises a fusion of warm European hospitality and the opulence of the Arabian Gulf, set against the backdrop of a marina in Bahrain's financial district.
With rooms and suites featuring contemporary interiors, guests can indulge in views from floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies.
The amenities at Kempinski Bahrain Harbour include a rooftop swimming pool, spa facilities, a fully equipped gym, tennis courts, a kids' play area and comprehensive business and event facilities.
Bahrain Harbour will also host 60 retail boutiques and a diverse range of dining options.
Located between Reef Island and Bahrain Bay, the Hhrbour offers proximity to key attractions such as The Avenues Mall, Manama Souq and Moda Mall. Links to Bahrain International Airport and the King Fahd Causeway further re-inforce its appeal.
