Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, under IHG Hotels & Resorts, has announced plans to strengthen its foothold in Mexico with a new boutique luxury resort in Todos Santos.
The new Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa, which is to be located in the Baja Sur peninsula, is scheduled to open next month.
This will mark the brand's third property in the country, with plans to further bolster its regional footprint with the launch of Kimpton Tres Rios Riviera Maya later this year.
IHG Hotels & Resorts Development, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean regional SVP Paul Adan said: “We are delighted with the opening of Kimpton Mas Olas as we continue to elevate and build upon the growth and momentum for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in Mexico.
“Kimpton Mas Olas will provide travellers with an inviting escape to immerse in luxurious amenities and inspired cuisine while embarking on locally inspired adventures in beautiful Todos Santos and beyond.”
Operated by Highgate, Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa will feature 103 guest rooms, including 12 oceanfront villas, across 27 buildings.
Select rooms will offer outdoor showers, plunge pools, and private roof decks, while the villas will be equipped with their own plunge pools and fire pits.
Dining options at the resort include three distinct restaurants and bars namely, Kahal, Botánica and Centro.
Kahal will offer a menu with local flavours and includes a raw bar and sunset deck.
Botánica, set within the resort's organic garden, will provide a dining experience along with a list of cocktails.
Centro will serve casual Mexican cuisine with a focus on Baja specialities and feature a coffee bar with locally roasted beans.
Among the property's other amenities include four outdoor pools, a fitness centre, a Pilates studio, and indoor and outdoor yoga shalas.
It will also have a 25,000ft² Botánica Spa, which will offer customisable blends of oils and scrubs for treatments at The Apothecary.
The resort is committed to eco-friendly practices, including the elimination of plastics on-site, the use of dark sky lighting to reduce light pollution, and a water recycling system.
Transportation within the resort will exclusively be via electric carts and bikes. The property will also honour local culture by featuring decor and furnishings made by regional artisans.
As of 31 December 2023, Kimpton operated 78 properties globally and had more than 54 in development, including locations in Budapest, Riyadh, and Marbella.
Last month, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants revealed the name of its hotel in San Antonio, Texas, US, which is expected to launch later this year.
