Sebastian Lang and Marcus Schwander, hotel interior design company Lang & Schwander’s principals, have acquired Hotel Engadinerhof in Pontresina, southeast Switzerland.
Financial specifics of the transaction were not revealed.
The 85-key hotel, which opened in 1905, features a restaurant, Nostra Pizzeria, offering a breakfast buffet and an evening four-course menu with a choice of main course.
It is near to the Bellavita water park with a spa area and a variety of shops, all within walking distance.
The Lang & Schwander team will assume management of the property and plans to renovate its common areas and guest rooms.
This overhaul will be led by Atelier Zürich, a Swiss interior design group under the direction of Claudia Silberschmidt.
Hotel Engadinerhof will continue to welcome guests throughout the refurbishment, which is planned to be executed in phases.
The renovation is anticipated to be completed by 2026.
Lang & Schwander founding partner Sebastian Lang said: “This is a life-long dream for both of us.
“It affords us the opportunity to implement literally every facet of our organisation’s ecosystem into the property – from working alongside an interior design firm, to FF&E fulfillment, to management.”
Lang & Schwander founding partner Marcus Schwander said: “This purchase allows us to say to every Lang & Schwander client that we fully appreciate the process in which they may be engaged – from ground-up construction and renovation work to everything in between.”
The company provides a wide array of services across the entire construction cycle, including pre-construction furniture, fixtures and equipment planning and comprehensive interior design services.
