Lek Hang Group has launched its flagship property, Hotel Central, situated on the Macao Peninsula in China.

The grand opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by key figures, including Lek Hang Group founder and chairman Sio Chong Meng.

Housed in a building dating back to 1928, the hotel has undergone a revamp to offer 114 rooms across six types and three historical themes.

The property features public areas such as the “Historical Cultural Corridor”, “Historical Sightseeing Promenade” and Palace Restaurant.

It also provides guided tours by professional docents.

In addition, Hotel Central plans to collaborate with other Lek Hang Group ventures, including Restaurante Pou Seak and “City Inn.”

Sio Chong Meng said: “In recent years, the Macao Government has been keenly focused on the preservation and revitalisation of the historic city centre, encouraging major leisure and entertainment enterprises to invest extensively in rejuvenating various districts.

“The hope is that the Hotel Central, with its rich historical roots and prime central location, will serve as a bridge connecting the various revitalised areas, fostering interaction and synergy among them. It is believed that with the attention and participation of the entire society, the old city area will soon witness a vibrant transformation, ushering in a new era of prosperity and cultural vitality.”

Over the past 30 years, the group is said to have expanded into various industries, including hotel management, real estate, mall operations, and advertising planning, among others.
