Hospitality chain Lemon Tree Hotels has signed a licence agreement for a new hotel in Coimbatore, in India’s southern state of Tamil Nadu, under its brand 'Keys Lite by Lemon Tree Hotels'.
The property, which is expected to be open in the financial year 2026 (FY 2026), will be managed by Carnation Hotels, a subsidiary and the management arm of Lemon Tree Hotels.
The Keys Lite by Lemon Tree Hotels will feature 40 rooms, a restaurant, and a meeting room.
Situated in the heart of the city, the hotel will cater to both business and leisure travellers.
It will be located about 10km from the Coimbatore International Airport and 3km from the Coimbatore Railway Station.
The city of Coimbatore is known for its industrial prowess and is also rich in cultural heritage.
The Sree Ayyappan Temple, modelled after the Sabarimala Temple in Kerala, is a focal point for visitors.
Additionally, the Vydehi Waterfall is a popular destination for its scenic beauty.
The hotel's strategic location ensures accessibility to these attractions, enhancing the city's tourism potential.
The expansion in Tamil Nadu is part of Lemon Tree Hotels' broader growth strategy.
The Coimbatore property adds to the five existing and one upcoming hotel in the state, reflecting the company's commitment to developing its presence in regions with significant historical and religious attractions.
Earlier this month, Lemon Tree Hotels announced that it is widening its footprint in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India, with the signing of a new property, Keys Lite by Lemon Tree Hotels, Urban Suites.
Expected to open in FY25, this latest addition marks the third Lemon Tree Hotels property in Udaipur.
Last month, the Economic Times reported that the hospitality company plans to open 30 new properties across India this year, adding over 2,000 rooms to its portfolio.
The company is focusing on strategic growth in various markets, targeting cities such as Gurugram, Jamshedpur, Meerut, and Thiruvananthapuram, as well as leisure and wellness destinations such as Dehradun, Goa, and Udaipur.
