Leonardo Hotels Central Europe (LHCE) has announced a new partnership aimed at further expansion and diversification.

The €400m ($432m) Fattal Partnership III (International) LP will focus on acquiring hotels across Europe, with a specific emphasis on entering the leisure travel sector. The sum will then serve as equity capital for the acquisition of hotels in Europe up to a total value of €900m.

“We were delighted to be able to establish a third hotel partnership in January 2024,” said Yoram Biton, managing director, Leonardo Hotels Central Europe, in a statement.

“This will provide a vehicle for the continuation of the dynamic growth of our hotel group. The investments will permit us to enhance our presence in Europe. Rather than solely concentrating on the business and conference segment, we will also be looking to the leisure travel sector.”

Shifting focus

Traditionally known for its presence in central European business hubs, LHCE is now looking to broaden its reach. The partnership will allow it to invest in leisure destinations such as Italy, Spain, and France, offering services and experiences tailored to a wider range of travellers.

The Leonardo Hotel Lago di Garda exemplifies LHCE's foray into leisure travel. This recently acquired hotel has a spa, pools and stylish design, offering guests a tranquil escape in the heart of Italy.

Six new hotels strategically located in Mallorca and Ibiza cater to diverse travellers seeking relaxation and luxury. These properties, including the fashionable NYX Hotel Ibiza, offer beachfront locations, exceptional service and amenities to suit every preference.

French debut

Marking its entry into France, LHCE recently opened the Leonardo Boutique Paris Opéra. This hotel, housed in a historic building, provides a haven in the bustling city of Paris. The group is planning further expansion in France, with potential openings in Paris and Marseille.

LHCE's diversified portfolio now includes 17 hotels in Spain and marks its first venture into France. This move positions the company to tap into Europe's most attractive leisure destinations, offering travellers unique and memorable experiences.
