Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy's portfolio, has forayed into the Hungarian hospitality market by opening its first property in Budapest.

The Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection is housed across three historic buildings, namely Weber, Mahart and Munnich.

The hotel is named after Archduchess Dorothea, who played a key role in the development of the city in the 19th century.

The 216-room property is designed by Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni.

There are two types of guestrooms and suites in the hotel: contemporary and heritage.

The Contemporary guestrooms feature a soft beige palette with orange accents, while the Heritage guestrooms are situated in the Weber building.

The Presidential Suite offers a sauna, a terrace with a jacuzzi and lounge seating.

The property also features a 650m² spa, with a sauna, steam room, swimming pool, and fitness centre.

Marriott International vice-president of premium and select brands for Europe, Middle East and Africa Sandra Schulze-Potgieter said: “Each Autograph Collection hotel tells a truly unique story and Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection is a shining example of this, reflecting the rich history of Budapest through a refined and sophisticated lens.

“This new opening expands our portfolio of Autograph Collection Hotels into one of Europe’s most fascinating cities.”

The ceiling and walls of the hotel feature portraits by Hungarian photographer Zoltán Tombor.

The property features the Pavillion Restaurant & Bar, which is led by chef Carmine di Luggo. It is housed within the hotel’s inner courtyard.

The hotel’s Anton's Bar & Deli serves artisanal coffee during the day and in the evenings, it turns into a bar.

The company said it intends to open two more restaurants in the hotel in 2024, which will be helmed by Michelin-starred chef Dani García.

Introduced by the group in 2010, the Autograph Collection features more than 290 hotels.

Generative AI can improve personalized healthcare by collecting data from patients via wearable devices. These wearables can provide continuous, real-time data that can complement traditional data sources such as imaging, patient records, and more. Generative AI tools can also help healthcare professionals make more accurate diagnoses by finding abnormalities that a healthcare professional may have missed. It can also enhance existing imaging techniques by generating high-quality images of organs using data from low-resolution images (such as ultrasounds).
