W Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy's global portfolio, has unveiled its latest property, W Macau – Studio City. The hotel marks the introduction of the iconic W Hotels brand, known for its opulence, to Macau.

Located within the Studio City integrated resort on the Cotai Strip, the hotel promises a unique guest experience through its design, dining and programming.

W Macau – Studio City's 557 guestrooms and suites range in size from 37m² to 258m², providing guests with charming vistas of Cotai or the city. All rooms feature a Bluetooth sound system, enhancing the in-room experience.

The hotel's two-bedroom Extreme WOW Suite on the 38th floor offers panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, a circular bed and a kitchenette with Portuguese-style ceramic tiles.

Four dining venues

Guests at W Macau – Studio City can indulge in a diverse culinary journey at four distinct restaurants and bars.

These venues serve Chinese-Portuguese-inspired pastries, niche coffees, creative cocktails, international and local flavours along with contemporary Cantonese fine dining and speciality cocktails and whiskies, all in captivating settings.

For relaxation and recreation, the hotel offers a 16m indoor pool area, WET, complete with a jacuzzi, cool-down pool, swing beds and a communal steam and sauna room.

Fitness enthusiasts can stay in shape at FIT, featuring the latest cardio equipment and weights. The AWAY® spa offers a range of signature treatments, including the invigorating detox massage.

Meet and retreat spaces

W Macau – Studio City has a meeting and events space, the ACADEMY, spanning 600m² across seven customisable rooms. The largest of these accommodates up to 130 guests and includes an open kitchen and beverage station.

The hotel features Greater China's first W Sound Suite, a recording studio experience within the destination bar Blind Tiger, allowing guests to explore their musical talents.

The metaverse may accelerate the travel industry’s recovery, though only compelling use cases will lead to adoption

Large travel and tourism organizations have begun exploring use cases for the metaverse following the devastating impact of the pandemic. Current applications either focus on digital marketing campaigns with real-world rewards for consumers, creating immersive experiences on-site for digitally savvy consumers through AR and VR metaverses, or improving operational efficiency through digital twin technology. However, its adoption by smaller operators will remain limited until use cases are affordable and provide a guaranteed ROI.
