Marriott International has signed a multi-deal agreement with PT Pakuwon Jati to develop five more hotels in Indonesia, adding over 1,300 rooms to the country's hospitality offerings.

This collaboration marks a significant step in the expansion of Marriott's footprint within Indonesia.

The properties are set to open between December 2029 and December 2030, with locations that include Jakarta, Surabaya, and Batam.

Jakarta Marriott Hotel Kota Kasablanka is expected to open in December 2029, featuring 320 guestrooms and suites, and a variety of amenities, including a fitness centre and outdoor swimming pool.

Opening at the same time, Aloft Surabaya, Pakuwon Indah will offer 243 rooms and 23 suites, along with a 600m² ballroom and additional meeting spaces.

Courtyard by Marriott Batam will open in December 2029, housing 306 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant and ten meeting rooms.

Set to be the first of its kind in Indonesia, the Jakarta EDITION hotel is anticipated to open in December 2030 with 240 guest rooms and suites. It will feature a restaurant with a semi-open kitchen, a rooftop cocktail bar, and extensive event spaces.

Westin Batam, also expected to open in December 2030, plans to offer 230 premium rooms and suites, a WestinWORKOUT Fitness studio, and multiple dining and event spaces.

Marriott International Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC) president Rajeev Menon said: “With 77 operating properties, we are optimistic and focused on strengthening our presence in Indonesia, in line with the strong demand for leisure and business travel.

“Our commitment to being everywhere our guests want us to be is further solidified by our strategic plans to expand our footprint in key destinations including outside gateway cities.

“We are confident that the depth and breadth of our brand portfolio and the power of our global platform to drive results will maximize the potential of these projects. We are excited to continue our strategic collaboration with PT. Pakuwon Jati Tbk to bring these projects to life.”

Last month, Marriott International opened the Adelaide Marriott Hotel, its 600th property in the APEC region.
