Marriott International has entered an agreement with NEOM to open two luxury properties in the north-west region of Saudi Arabia.

The properties consist of a JW Marriott property and the country’s first W Hotel, both located at Trojena, which is NEOM’s mountain destination.

Marriott International's regional vice-president of lodging development for the Middle East Chadi Hauch said: “We are excited to work with NEOM to develop these two exciting properties in one of the most highly anticipated developments in the world.

“W Hotels continues to redefine the luxury hospitality sector and NEOM is an ideal fit with its vision centred around innovation, creativity, design and exploration, while JW Marriott, one of our flagship brands, will bring its legacy of extraordinary hospitality, thoughtful design and enriching experiences.”

Located within the region’s Lake Village, the W Hotel in Trojena will feature 236 guest rooms, including 47 suites overlooking the mountain and freshwater lake.

It will offer a living room, a WET Deck, a W Lounge, an AWAY Spa, and a FIT fitness centre, as well as four dining venues and retail space.

The Lake Village is set alongside an architectural lake spanning 2.8km that features a forest and waterfront activities.

It will also serve as a destination with various retail, dining, and entertainment areas.

The JW Marriott Hotel in Trojena will be part of The Bow, a water-based community that is expected to blend nature and technology.

The hotel, nestled within the lake and surrounded by mountains, will be built to withstand the water pressure and weight.

Available for multiseason use, the hotel will feature 500 rooms and suites, along with an atrium with the capacity to host large-scale events.

One of the flagship developments within NEOM, Trojena, is being developed to serve as a year-round adventure sports hub.

It will offer a wide range of activities such as skiing, hiking, water sports, and mountain biking.

Trojena is set to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.
