Marriott International has announced the launch of its 500th hotel in Greater China, the Rissai Valley, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
The property, under the Ritz-Carlton Reserve portfolio of Marriott, is located in Jiuzhaigou, China’s southwestern Sichuan province.
Rissai Valley features 87 villas offering views of the Minshan mountain range and the ancient Tibetan villages.
Each villa includes a dedicated personal host, known as a “Nieba” in the local language, who will cater to the need of visitors.
Marriott International Luxury president Tina Edmundson said: “We are thrilled to debut Rissai Valley, China’s first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Jiuzhaigou, one of the most stunningly beautiful and culturally rich areas of the world.
“Rissai Valley is the sixth property in a rare portfolio of exclusive estates worldwide, offering an intimate and transformative experience rooted in heartfelt care and human connection.”
The dining options include Bo Ri Village, all-day dining opposite the Reserve; Cai Lin Xuan, a Sichuan restaurant specialising in local dishes; La Montagne which serves a Western menu and al fresco grills and the Lobby Lounge, which offers afternoon tea and cocktails.
Its Rissai Spa provides healing practises and experiences based on Tibetan wisdom, such as singing bowl sound treatment and yoga sessions.
Furthermore, the property features an infinity swimming pool, a kids’ area, indoor and outdoor facilities and several other outdoor activities.
In March, Marriott revealed its plans to broaden its portfolio in Greater China by adding 47 hotels with over 12,000 rooms this year, expanding its presence in the region to over 500 properties and 150,000 rooms by the end of this year.
