Marriott International has signed an agreement with EV Connect to streamline electrical vehicle (EV) charging for its guests at its properties.

This agreement is expected to meet the demand for EV charging infrastructure, with 14 million EVs set to be on the road by the end of this year.

The collaboration enables Marriott locations in the US and Canada to add and manage EV charging stations through EV Connect.

Marriott International senior vice-president of global operations Andrew Bodziak said: “Our guests increasingly expect EV charging stations at our properties and this collaboration will help us meet rapidly evolving consumer demand and further the company’s sustainability goals.

“With EV Connect, we can offer properties an end-to-end turnkey service, simplifying the planning, installation on and maintenance processes while simultaneously delivering high-quality service our guests expect.”

EV Connect’s charging platform is claimed to streamline charging station setup and management, supported by customer service, right from installation to driver assistance.

Marriott properties will be able to select charging hardware deployed on the open platform, thereby enabling them to scale the EV charging requirements that meet the requirements of each location.

Additionally, EV Connect Shield offers a warranty plan that provides Marriott property owners with maintenance services.

These services include charging station repairs, software support and fieldwork labour for tasks ranging from minor technical issues to parts replacement.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, Marriott International has announced a partnership with NodesNow, a meeting technology company.

This partnership will bring NodesNow's collaboration technology to Marriott’s Managed by Marriott hotels in the US, with future expansion into other North American markets.

NodesNow's solution aims to redefine the meeting experience by eliminating the need for several in-room devices.

Its Collaboration Eco-System is designed to help participants engage in on-site and hybrid meetings.

It boasts a high-contrast 4K multitouch screen, an integrated microphone and a speaker system.

This cloud-based collaboration platform allows both local and remote participants to actively contribute by sharing sticky notes and files and collaborating seamlessly.

Additionally, NodesNow plans to further develop and expand advanced features and user capabilities.
