US-based Marriott International has further expanded its portfolio in Vietnam with the opening of three new beachside resorts.

The properties are Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island; Renaissance Hoi An Resort & Spa and Danang Marriott Resort & Spa, Non Nuoc Beach Villas.

These properties are owned by Vietnamese hospitality company Vinpearl.

Jakob Helgen, Marriott International area vice-president for Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar, said: “We are excited to unveil these three exceptional resorts on the same day. It marks a milestone for the company’s expansion in Vietnam, providing domestic and international travellers unrivalled choices of high-quality service and immersive experiences across this captivating country.

“Our collaboration with Vinpearl continues to support us in creating outstanding opportunities for Vietnam’s travel and tourism industry. We look forward to welcoming guests from around the globe and introducing Marriott Bonvoy’s industry-leading brands to more destinations.”

These new resorts bolster Marriott Bonvoy’s presence in Nha Trang and Danang and mark the group's debut in Hoi An.

Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island, boasts 403 rooms and suites, along with 426 two, three and four-bedroom villas, making it the largest resort in the country.

It features four local restaurants and bars, two tennis courts, a fitness centre, a kids' club and playground, seven pools, the Quan Spa and indoor and outdoor event spaces.

The property provides families with children access to the M Passport programme, which features activities such as beach games, sandcastle building and the VinWonders Nha Trang theme park.

The hotel is located on a 2km beach on Hon Tre Island near Nha Trang in south-central Vietnam and is a 40-minute drive from Cam Ranh International Airport.

Danang Marriott Resort & Spa, Non Nuoc Beach Villas is situated on Vietnam's central coast, close to Non Nuoc Beach and is a 20-minute drive from Danang International Airport.

This property is Marriott's first all-villa resort in Vietnam, featuring two, three and four-bedroom villas with private plunge pools and sun decks.

The property, with its M Passport programme, offers family activities such as in-villa picnics, beach adventures and explorations of the Marble Mountains.

It also features five dining and social venues, an outdoor pool, a kids' club, a fitness facility, a spa and two tennis courts.

Situated at Cua Dai Beach in the city of Hoi An, Renaissance Hoi An Resort & Spa marks the first Renaissance property in the country.

Situated within a 30-minute drive from Danang International Airport, the hotel has 218 rooms and suites, as well as beachfront pool villas.

It has dining venues, a spa, a tennis court, a 24/7 fitness centre and an infinity pool.

It also hosts events at its 476m² Grand Ballroom and an outdoor venue that can accommodate up to 650 people.

These latest additions bring Marriott’s portfolio to a total of 19 hotels and resorts across Vietnam.

Currently, Marriott International has roughly 8,600 properties across 30 brands in 139 countries and territories.

Cryptocurrency - The world’s most polarizing technology theme

The globalization and digitization of travel and tourism are both driving the demand for easy-to-use and cheap international transaction processes and payment systems. Tourists are beginning to discover that cryptocurrencies offer such opportunities—by simplifying cross-border transactions and overcoming the associated foreign currency exchange costs. At present, cryptocurrencies are the most advanced application of public blockchains that promise benefits such as a universal means of payment and minimal fees through the removal of intermediaries.
