Marriott International's Moxy brand has expanded its US presence with the launch of its first property in North Carolina.
The new Moxy Asheville is a six-storey building with 115 rooms. It comprises a living room-styled lobby that includes an open workspace, a video wall, and a grab-and-go market.
The hotel features the work of around 20 local and regional artists, including North Carolina's tallest mural by Scott Allred of Bruschcan Studios and a custom moonshine still from Ace Custom Copper.
Moxy Asheville is a dual-brand offering linked to Aloft Asheville Downtown.
The properties have separate lobbies and elevators, but share amenities like the pool deck, fitness centre, and meeting space.
Moxy Asheville is owned by McKibbon Equities and operated by McKibbon Hospitality, the hotel management business of McKibbon.
McKibbon Equities president J B McKibbon said: "Our team is thrilled to welcome this exciting new property to the portfolio.
"Asheville has solidified itself as a must-visit destination in the south and as we expand our footprint in North Carolina we couldn't be prouder to share the beloved Moxy brand with this community and its visitors."
The design and construction of the property were led by architect Winford Lindsey, with interior design by The Society, a Seattle-based hospitality design company.
McKibbon Places managed the project while Kellogg & Kimsey was the general contractor.
Asheville native Dexter Hazel oversees the day-to-day operations of Moxy and its sister property, Aloft Asheville Downtown, while Jamie Tudico is appointed as the market director of sales.
Jamie Tudico is tasked with driving revenue for Moxy Asheville and other McKibbon properties in downtown Asheville.
