Marriott International has announced a partnership with Zhong An Commercial Group to launch the W Hotels brand in Hangzhou, China.
Anticipated to open in 2031, W Hangzhou was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and features 270 guest rooms and suites.
The property will provide guests with two signature restaurants, a bar, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, and a spa. It will also offer event spaces such as a ballroom, a junior ballroom and four meeting rooms.
Marriott International Greater China chief development officer Gavin Yu said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Zhong An Commercial Group to introduce W Hotels to Hangzhou, inviting guests to indulge in the vibrant culture and dynamic spirit of this historic city through a distinct lens of luxury.
“We look forward to further expanding our luxury portfolio in Greater China, aligning W Hotels with complementary destinations to cater to the ever-evolving global luxury traveller.”
The hotel's prime location in Hangzhou’s new CBD ensures visibility and accessibility, being approximately 15km from the Hangzhou East Railway Station and about 24km from the Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport.
Adjacent landmarks include the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Expo Centre and the InCity retail centre.
With the addition of W Hangzhou, Marriott International continues to expand its luxury hotel portfolio in Greater China, now boasting more than 70 luxury hotels.
