Maverick Hotels has expanded its management portfolio with the addition of The Last Hotel STL in Saint Louis, Missouri, reported hotel-online.com.

The Last Hotel STL, which has now joined the Maverick Hotels management portfolio, represents the preservation, restoration, and reinvention of the International Shoe Company building from 1909.

The hotel’s design pays homage to its history as a former shoe factory, which incorporates ornate metalwork, elaborate stone carvings, and terrazzo floors all in the Neoclassical and Art Deco style elements.

With mid-century furnishings, the hotel has rooms that range in size from 433ft² to 457ft² and offers luxury boutique linens, modern amenities, and original architectural details.

The suites provide additional luxuries, including Designer CO Bigelow products and spacious bathrooms.

The Last Hotel STL guests can enjoy an array of facilities, such as an upscale restaurant, a rooftop bar with an adults-only pool, and a fitness centre.

The hotel also offers meeting and event spaces.

This property is a two-minute walk from the City Museum, an interactive art space featuring a ten-storey spiral slide and the world's largest jungle gym.

Additionally, it is located a mile from I-64 and Busch Stadium, home of baseball games.

Maverick founder and CEO Robert Habeeb said: “Maverick is pleased to enter the St. Louis market with the addition of this one-of-a-kind hotel to our growing and increasingly diverse portfolio. It’s an exciting property with a storied history; one we look forward to continuing to write.”
