Australia-based Meriton Suites is set to open a new hotel in Liverpool, New South Wales (NSW), for guests on September 23.

This hotel marks the 16th location for Meriton Suites in NSW, according to Hospitality Net.

It will feature 229 rooms, a 24/7 fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool, a spa and a sauna.

The owner-operator of apartment-style suites in the country has invested $400m for the development of three hotels, including the one at Liverpool.

Out of the three hotels, the first opened in Canberra on August 19. The Melbourne hotel will officially open on September 26.

Designed by Fender Katsalidis, MONA & Australia 108, the Canberra hotel features 280 luxury rooms.

Situated in the heart of Canberra's Central Business District, the new Meriton Suites hotel is designed to offer guests a spacious and comfortable stay and is close to the city’s attractions.

These openings mark Meriton Suites’ expansion into two new states: Melbourne, Victoria; and Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

Targeted at corporate and leisure markets, all three hotels will feature one, two and three-bedroom suites, with each suite consisting of king-sized beds, a kitchen and a contemporary bathroom.

Meriton Group founder and managing director Harry Triguboff was quoted by the media outlet as saying: “We’re delighted to be opening three new Meriton Suites hotels across the nation, another big step for the company.

“Our investment into these new markets is a clear demonstration of our confidence in the continued growth of the domestic and international inbound markets and the ongoing demand for luxury apartment-style hotels for the modern traveller.”

Demand for upscale and luxurious products has been rising steadily in the travel and tourism sector

The increased need for privacy, a greater focus on health and wellbeing, a desire to tick off ‘bucket list’ experiences, the tendency to take longer trips, the focus on eco-tourism, and an increase in millionaires means the theme of premiumization will continue to grow in importance. The travel industry will experience a surge in demand for higher-end and customized offerings as experiential consumption keeps growing. While premiumization attracts only a small number of global travelers, it is a valuable revenue stream for companies as it is unlikely to be impacted by external factors like economic downturns.
