Minor Hotels has appointed new leadership for its NH Collection Colombo Hotel and NH Bentota Ceysands Resort as it strengthens its presence and the brands in Sri Lanka.
The Thailand-headquartered hotel group introduced the NH Collection and NH Hotels brands in the South Asian nation in June 2024.
Yann Decaix has been named as general manager of the five-star NH Collection Colombo Hotel, and Wim Fagel will take the helm at the NH Bentota Ceysands Resort.
Minor Hotels Asia head Puneet Dhawan said: “I am thrilled to welcome Yann and Wim to lead our pivotal conversions in Sri Lanka. Their extensive experience will be invaluable as we introduce the NH Collection and NH Hotels brands to this vibrant market.
“We are confident that under their leadership, the two properties will not only enhance our presence in Sri Lanka but also contribute significantly to the anticipated full rebound in tourism numbers post-pandemic.”
With more than 15 years of experience, Yann Decaix has previously worked with Minor Hotels, Accor, and The Dorchester Collection.
In his new role, Decaix is tasked with transforming the 219-room property in Colombo into an NH Collection hotel and “ensuring a smooth brand launch” in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Fagel will be responsible for rebranding and refurbishment at the 166-room NH Bentota resort.
He brings nearly 40 years of international experience in luxury property management, including opening, restructuring, and renovating hotels across Asia and Europe.
Fagel's experience includes serving as area general manager for Centara Hotels & Resorts in Myanmar, along with roles in Thailand and Indonesia.
Minor Hotels operates three properties in Sri Lanka, notably the Anantara Kalutara Resort, Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort, and Avani Kalutara Resort. In addition, the company manages more than 90 NH Collection hotels and over 230 NH hotels and resorts worldwide.
