Bangkok-based Minor Hotels has signed its first NH Hotel in Australia – NH Sydney Airport, which will be developed with an investment of A$55m ($35.39m), as reported by ETHospitalityWorld.com.

Located at 102–106 Robey Street in the Mascot suburb of Sydney, the property is currently under construction and expected to open by 2026.

Minor Hotels chief operating officer for Australia and New Zealand Craig Hooley said: "We are pleased to be launching the trusted and reputable NH Hotels brand in the Australian market.

"As a high-profile brand throughout Europe and the Americas, we are confident that NH Hotels' easy-going, urban and fresh service offering will be very well received by Australian travellers."

The property will feature 90 rooms, a lobby restaurant and a bar offering all-day dining and communal spaces.

The design and concept of the hotel are overseen by Bates Smart, an Australian architecture firm.

NH Sydney Airport aims to provide guests with an experience that is based on the NH brand’s three key principles: affordability, convenient location and personalised service.

This property is being developed alongside NH Collection Sydney, which is set to debut in 2025 as the inaugural boutique hotel under the NH Collection brand in Australia.

Located approximately 7km from Sydney's central business district and a short distance from the domestic and international airports, the NH Sydney Airport hotel will target both business and leisure travellers.

NH Hotel has a portfolio of more than 300 hotels across 30 countries worldwide.

The latest announcement comes following the opening of the NH Boat Lagoon Phuket Resort in Thailand in 2022.
