American hotel management company MMI Hotel Group has secured the mandate to operate Fontana Village Resort and Marina in North Carolina.
Spread across 356 acres, the property boasts a 91-guest room Fontana Lodge as well as 124 cabins.
The lodge features fireplace-equipped rooms with balconies, along with poolside cabanas and views of the surrounding mountains.
Cabins range from one to four bedrooms and offer amenities such as a living area with a sofa and television, a kitchen and a private porch.
The property also features a general store, two swimming pools, two restaurants, a multi-purpose sports area, a fuel station, a post office building, horse stables, public trails and a 60-slip marina with 18 floating cabins moorings.
Furthermore, the property has an 18-hole miniature golf course, mountain biking, white water rafting, boat rentals and local tours.
MMI CEO Micajah Sturdivant said: “Originally constructed as the core of a community brought together to build Fontana Dam, Fontana Village has transitioned into an authentic destination for visitors to the Smoky Mountains and the Appalachian Trail.”
The property has several dining options, including the Mountview Bistro, which serves farm-to-table meals, baked items and desserts; the Wildwood Grill, a three-meal casual restaurant and the Bear’s Den Lounge, a full-service bar serving local wines, craft brews and small plate meals.
Fontana Ventures partner Robin Turner said: “With a reputation for generating superior guest satisfaction and improved bottom lines at historical lodgings, MMI was the obvious choice for us to lead operations at Fontana Village Resort and Marina."
