The Moroccan National Tourist Office has entered a partnership with Wego, an online travel marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

This collaboration is aimed at boosting tourism growth in Morocco and promoting the country’s history, landscapes, and cities to tourists from MENA.

Wego uses user-friendly technology to automate the search and comparison of hotels, flights, and travel agency websites from various airlines and online platforms.

It connects users to a wide range of travel choices, ensuring a smooth trip-planning experience, the company noted.

The collaboration will leverage Wego's wide reach, data-driven insights, and user-friendly platform to enhance the country’s visibility and draw in more travellers.

This partnership will focus on promoting Morocco as a destination for adventure, culture, and relaxation using joint marketing initiatives, curated content, and exclusive promotions.

Under the partnership, Wego will include dedicated sections on its platform to promote the country's main attractions, provide travel advice, and offer exclusive deals.

This will give users access to detailed travel information for planning trips to Morocco.

The country includes various destinations such as the Atlas Mountains, Marrakech, Sahara Desert, and more.

Wego chief business officer Mamoun Hmedan said: “At Wego, we are dedicated to inspiring and facilitating travel experiences. Our collaboration with the Moroccan National Tourist Office is a testament to our commitment to promoting exceptional destinations.

“Morocco's rich cultural tapestry, historical landmarks, and diverse landscapes align perfectly with what our users seek. We are thrilled to bring the magic of Morocco to the fingertips of travellers around the world.”

Last month, Wego announced a strategic partnership with the German National Tourist Office Gulf Co-operation Council.

The campaign promotes Germany’s winter season and cultural festivities to tourists from MENA, highlighting Christmas markets and winter sports.

Headquartered in Dubai and Singapore, Wego was founded in 2005.

It has regional offices in Bangalore, Lahore, Cairo, Riyadh, and Kuala Lumpur.
