Native Places begins remodelling of historic Glasgow aparthotel

The aparthotel is located in Glasgow’s city centre in an Edwardian building on St Vincent Place.

Aparthotel company Native Places has announced an extensive remodelling project for its Glasgow property following a £1m investment.

First opened in 2018, the Native Glasgow aparthotel is located in Glasgow’s city centre in a building that dates back to 1881.

The redesign pays homage to the building’s past as the former headquarters of the Anchor Line Shipping Company through the aesthetics of 1920s ocean liners.

The Premium Studios are available for booking with stays priced from £120 per night. Full completion of the remodelling project is set to finish in spring 2024, including the top floor penthouses and a mix of one-bedroom apartments.

An in-house design team has maintained the building’s period features while incorporating bespoke furniture and contemporary mid-century pieces.

The property also showcases a curated artwork collection which mixes photography and illustrations by local artists.

Native Places CEO Olivia Immesi commented: “Embarking on this remodelling journey has been a true labour of love for the team at Native Places. Our aim was to create an experience that not only transports guests through time but also connects them with Glasgow.”

Glasgow is a budding market for hoteliers with room for businesses of all sizes. In late 2023, Virgin Hotels came under fire for closing its luxury property in the city only months after its opening.
