Hospitality group Accor has announced plans to further strengthen its presence in Japan with the opening of a Mercure-branded property on 26 November 2023.

Situated in Tokyo, Mercure Tokyo Haneda Airport will mark the ninth Mercure hotel in the country.

This latest addition comes after Accor announced the opening of Grand Mercure Lampung in Indonesia this month.

Accor CEO for Premium, Midscale and Economy division for Asia Garth Simmons said: “Mercure Tokyo Haneda Airport will be our 9th Mercure hotel in Japan and an exciting addition to our portfolio.

“We look forward to bringing our locally inspired Mercure experience and international hospitality standards to this premium location close to Haneda Airport, the gateway into Japan.”

The hotel will feature the design theme ‘Tokyo Eclectic’, with its hotel décor influenced by Japanese subcultures, including manga, anime and electronics.

It will offer 363 guestrooms, catering to both leisure and business travellers.

The hotel’s first floor will include Brasserie s'envoler, a restaurant and bar serving traditional French dishes such as Pâté de Campagne and steak frites with a local twist.

Guests can access a fitness centre, three meeting rooms ranging from 17m² to 53m² and two lounges on the second floor.

One of the lounges, called the crew lounge, will provide crew members with a space to relax and enjoy drinks.

Guests will also have access to Haneda Airport, situated within a ten-minute drive from the hotel.

Additionally, the hotel will be part of Accor’s loyalty programme, called ALL - Accor Live Limitless.

Currently, Accor manages 21 properties in Japan, with 5,085 keys under various brands.

It also has over 900 Mercure properties across more than 60 countries.

Generative AI can improve personalized healthcare by collecting data from patients via wearable devices. These wearables can provide continuous, real-time data that can complement traditional data sources such as imaging, patient records, and more. Generative AI tools can also help healthcare professionals make more accurate diagnoses by finding abnormalities that a healthcare professional may have missed. It can also enhance existing imaging techniques by generating high-quality images of organs using data from low-resolution images (such as ultrasounds).
