NexGen Hotels, an independent owner, operator, and third-party management company, has acquired Hotel Versey in Chicago, Illinois, US.
Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.
The acquired property is a 137-room boutique hotel, located at 644 W Diversey Parkway, and will be managed by the Genuine Hospitality Group based in St Louis, Missouri.
Hotel Versey is housed within the 1920s Diversey Arms building that once served as a residence for jazz musician Bix Beiderbecke.
The hotel's amenities include 50in HD TVs, Nespresso coffee machines, and complimentary Wi-Fi in each guest room.
Executive rooms are designed to cater to the needs of business and long-term travellers.
The hotel also has an ‘Art Arrival’ corridor, featuring custom-made artworks that lead guests to an open-layout lobby.
NexGen Hotels president Chris Patel said: “The Hotel Versey has been on our radar for a long time as it is steeped in rich hospitality tradition that dates back to the 1920s.
“We hope to continue with this tradition with this completely one-of-a-kind hotel.”
Hotel Versey is situated near Lincoln Park, providing guests easy access to restaurants, nightclubs, shopping venues, museums, and universities.
This transaction follows NexGen Hotels' acquisition of the Best Western Plus Ambassador Suites Venice late last year.
The property offers 83 suites, a range of dining and entertainment options and amenities such as a fitness centre, a heated outdoor swimming pool, and a sundeck.
The company’s current portfolio comprises 19 properties and counting. These include La Quinta in Collinsville, Four Points by Sheraton in Mount Prospect and more.
