Luxury lifestyle brand Nobu is developing a new hotel in Cairo as a continuation of its partnership with Egyptian real estate developer SODIC.

The signing for Nobu Hotel and Restaurant East Cairo took place at Nobu Fifty Seven in New York, US, and marks Nobu and SODIC’s third venture in Egypt.

This follows the unveiling of Nobu Hotel, Restaurant, and Residences in both West Cairo and North Coast Egypt in 2023.

The new hotel will be strategically situated in the newly developed Eastown District New Cairo (EDNC).

The ongoing partnership between Nobu and SODIC aims to enhance Egypt’s growing tourism and real estate sectors but also reflects Nobu’s global expansion plans.

The existing projects with Nobu are luxury hotels, branded residences, and restaurants within SODIC’s signature development in New Zayed, 'The Estates Residences', as well as the developer’s newest upscale project at Egypt’s Mediterranean north coast.

Nobu co-owners Robert DeNiro, Meir Taper, and Nobu Matsuhisa, commented: “Partners mean so much to us and we are thrilled to further strengthen this growing collaboration with SODIC with our third destination together in Egypt. Egypt provides an ideal setting for Nobu, drawing inspiration from the country’s vibrant atmosphere.”

SODIC general manager Ayman Amer added: “We are proud to be continuing our growth in the luxury market and look forward to delivering a premium experience that contributes to Egypt’s positioning as a global destination."

GlobalData’s travel and tourism intelligence finds that Egypt does not exhibit an overreliance on any single source market, but five of the top ten source markets are located in Africa.
