Novotel has announced it is replacing all plastic bottles with environmentally friendly glass bottles at its hotel in Guwahati, the capital city of the Indian state of Assam, according to ETHospitalityWorld.com.

This announcement marks an effort to create a greener and more sustainable future and preserve the natural beauty of Assam.

The environmentally friendly glass bottles are produced at the hotel’s in-house water bottle plant.

They are not only reusable but also carefully produced with minimal environmental impact, stated Novotel Guwahati.

In an official statement, Novotel stated: “We believe that every small step counts and this initiative is a testament to our commitment to making a difference. By eliminating plastic bottles from our guest rooms, we estimate a significant reduction in plastic waste, which ultimately translates into reduced carbon emissions.

“Our efforts to create a greener hotel are part of a broader sustainability vision, where we strive to integrate eco-friendly practises into every aspect of our hospitality.”

In May this year, Novotel expanded in India with the opening of its 23rd property – Novotel Jodhpur ITI Circle.

This hotel boasts 93 rooms and suites spread across seven floors. It consists of two premium suites, five junior suites, five executive rooms and 81 superior rooms.

It also features a spa and steam facility, a rooftop swimming pool, a gymnasium, an all-day multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant and bar, as well as 1,400m² of event space.

Novotel Jodhpur ITI Circle is 4km from Jodhpur Railway Station and 7km from Jodhpur Airport.
