OYO to add 50 hotels and homestays in Tamil Nadu, India

The hotels and homestays are planned to be added near Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram town as well as Ramanathapuram district.

Hospitality technology platform OYO has announced its plan to add 50 hotels and homestays in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu by the end of 2023, reported PTI via Moneycontrol.

The hotels and homestays are planned to be added near Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram town as well as Ramanathapuram district. Rameswaram is a municipality in the district.

According to OYO, the plan aims to promote Rameswaram as a major tourist destination and tap its rich cultural heritage.

Rameswaram is a popular location for pilgrims and spiritual seekers.

Among the other attractions for tourists at the place include Pamban Bridge, pristine beaches., etc

Most of the homestays at Rameswaram will be located close to Ramanathaswamy Temple.

The company intends to provide training to homestay owners which will enable them to tap earning opportunities by improving guest experience and efficiently managing their property.

The training will also focus on ways to promote their homestays through marketing techniques.

Oyo also plans to introduce and develop activities for tourists, including outdoor camping, marine biodiversity exploration, water sports, and walking trails.

It aims to co-create nature and marine walking trails and advertise them on numerous online travel sites for nature and bird lovers, reported ETHospitalityWorld.com.

OYO founder and CEO Ritesh Agarwal said: "OYO is excited to play a supporting role in the development of Rameswaram as a tourist hotspot. We plan to unveil the hidden gems, showcase the unique experiences, and elevate the tourism potential of this iconic destination through a sustainable tourism development plan.

"We are committed to working closely with government authorities, local stakeholders, and the community to implement this tourism development plan effectively."

The company has also launched homestay development projects for leisure travellers in Jammu and Kashmir and for religious travellers in Ayodhya.
