Global hospitality company Pan Pacific Hotels Group has entered Kyoto, Japan, through a partnership with Tokyu Hotels.
This move follows the launch of two hotels, including Bellustar Tokyo, A Pan Pacific Hotel; and Hotel Groove Shinjuku, A Parkroyal Hotel, in Tokyo last year, as the group continues to strengthen its global brand presence.
The alliance aims to capitalise on Pan Pacific Hotels Group's existing multinational sales and marketing network, which spans across Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America.
It will leverage Pan Pacific Hotels Group's distribution platforms and technological infrastructure to enhance business performance in key global markets.
Pan Pacific Hotels Group CEO Choe Peng Sum said: “The successful openings of Bellustar Tokyo, A Pan Pacific Hotel; and Hotel Groove Shinjuku, A Parkroyal Hotel resulted in a substantial increase in international travellers into both hotels with approximately 60% of total guests originating from our loyalty programme.”
In addition, The Hotel Higashiyama Kyoto Tokyu, which is now a Pan Pacific Hotel, will join the Pan Pacific “Discovery” loyalty programme, potentially connecting with its 27 million members worldwide.
According to Pan Pacific Hotels, the design of The Hotel Higashiyama Kyoto Tokyu is a testament to the fusion of Eastern and Western aesthetics, drawing inspiration from the Shirakawa River.
Celebrating its second anniversary, the 143-room hotel provides easy access to Kyoto's attractions and introduces guests to the local culture through its "Kyoto Iroha" programme.
This initiative is designed to deepen guests' understanding and appreciation of the city's aesthetics.
The hotel's offerings include a 78-seater restaurant and bar, a tea bar for Japanese tea ceremonies, and an onsen-style bathing experience with three private baths.
Situated near Gion district, the property is four minutes from the Higashiyama station and a short taxi ride from the JR Kyoto station.
Tokyu Hotels & Resorts representative director and president Jun Murai said: “We are very pleased to be partnering with Pan Pacific Hotels Group for the third property, following the two hotels that opened in Tokyu Kabukicho Tower last year.
“The hotel will open its doors to the world more widely as a place that provides their guests what weaves together the unique local experience, traditional beauty, and culture that the hotel has cherished since its opening.”
