Having completed the first phase of its £20 million renovation in late 2023, the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US, a renowned AAA Four Diamond establishment owned and managed by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, has commenced the second phase of its extensive makeover.
The focus is now on updating its historic guest rooms, which have hosted dignitaries, performers, authors and esteemed personalities since the hotel's opening in 1893.
Aesthetic transformation of the hotel
The restyled historic guest rooms offer iconic city views and will showcase a colour palette inspired by Lake Michigan, with blue and green undertones. The update includes new crown moulding, chair rails and works of art, contributing to the hotel's extensive collection.
Plush custom carpeting, furniture reminiscent of the late 1800s and modern amenities such as Nespresso machines and motion sensor lighting will redefine the guest experience.
Completely new bathrooms with modern fixtures and artwork reflecting Wisconsin's history add a touch of sophistication.
Milwaukee homage in every detail
To pay homage to its Milwaukee roots, the hotel will feature custom wallcoverings depicting native plants around Lake Michigan.
The corridors will contain custom Axminster carpeting which will continue the waterfall art theme from the renovated ballrooms.
Valets on guest room doors, original US Mail chutes on every floor and custom wood features preserve the hotel's historic past while providing a modern touch.
Floor to ceiling lobby renovations
Following the completion of the guest room revitalisation, the Pfister Hotel is set to renovate its spectacular lobby and first-floor public spaces.
The lobby will receive an updated colour palette, new carpet and luxurious furnishings, while the iconic domed ceiling undergoes restoration.
The Rouge Ballroom, a popular venue for weddings and events, will also see a neutral colour palette to highlight its ornate features and crystal chandeliers.
Future phases and continued investment
With more information on future phases yet to be disclosed, the Pfister Hotel remains committed to enhancing its atmosphere of elegance and sophistication.
The ongoing investment aims to maintain the classic charm of the historic hotel while providing a refreshed and modern experience for today's travellers.
As the renovation progresses, the Pfister anticipates continued positive feedback from guests.
The project aligns with Marcus Hotels & Resorts' commitment to creating value through expertise in management, development and product repositioning, as they continue to own and manage a distinctive portfolio of hotels and resorts across the US.
