British hotel chain Premier Inn has introduced its new ‘Next Evolution Style’ rooms, with their design inspired by working environment changes and the rise of social content creation.

The interiors of Next Evolution Style rooms include enhanced lighting, floor-to-ceiling curtains and double shower heads.

Most rooms feature fabric headboards in the brand's signature purple, alongside bedside charging, and USB ports for added convenience, the hotel chain said.

Neon signs, modern fabrics, and artworks are now present in various hotel areas, enhancing the visual appeal for guests.

Furthermore, in response to the shift towards more flexible working arrangements post-Covid, Premier Inn has replaced traditional desks with flexi tables to create a more relaxed working environment and convivial spaces.

The rooms are divided into three functional zones - a getting-ready area with vanity mirrors and hair dryers, a sleeping area with comfortable beds, and a “hive” area for work and relaxation.

Design strategies have been employed to create a sense of spaciousness, with floating furniture that also helps reduce the likelihood of guests leaving items behind.

At some hotels, Premier Inn has also launched integrated ground floor entrances with digital check-in, along with expansive breakfast and bar areas.

Booths have been introduced to accommodate informal meetings, with low café style and mid-height seats installed for more social gatherings.

The hotel chain has incorporated feedback from regular guests to ensure the new design meets their expectations.

Whitbread product and proposition head Sarah Simpson said: “We have worked hard to enhance our hero room design and are so proud to launch our new rooms which are based on meticulous guest research, introducing more flexibility and personalisation for guests than ever before, as well as creating a more efficient environment for our team members to service the rooms.

“We know how important sleep is and as the experts in resting easy, we’ve invested to create the best environment possible for our guests, evolving these new rooms along with consumers’ needs. In doing so we’ve striven to create a warm and welcoming environment where guests can feel comforted and cocooned for the best night’s sleep possible.”
