Proper Hospitality has taken over the management and operations of Montauk Yacht Club, a 107-key luxury seaside resort and marina in The Hamptons, New York, US.
The property, owned by Safe Harbor Marinas, is set to undergo a multi-million dollar renovation, reported HotelManagement.
It is expected to open next month, joining Proper Hospitality's The Collective brand, a collection of independent hotels.
Built in 1928, Montauk Yacht Club is located on 16 acres of resort grounds on Montauk’s Star Island within Lake Montauk.
The renovation aims to reflect the Montauk community while introducing uncommon luxury and world-class amenities.
These include enhanced dining, a focus on wellness, and updated indoor and outdoor spaces.
The renovation will see the debut of Ocean Club Montauk, a new restaurant and bar led by chef Jarad McCarroll.
The Yacht Club caters to both private boats and hotel guests, offering day trips, fishing expeditions, and various water excursions.
In addition, the Yacht Club will also feature electric X-Shore boats as part of its house fleet for local transportation and leisure activities.
The further updates to the property will be unveiled early this summer, and include a refreshed fitness centre and spa, an all-day to-go café, indoor and outdoor bars, and more.
These upgrades will also include three pools, as well as courts for tennis, pickleball, volleyball, and bocce.
Montauk Yacht Club is also said to have the largest marina in The Hamptons, with more than 200 wet slips that can accommodate a range of boats, including 300ft superyachts.
This comes after the company revealed the appointment of Andrew Miele as chief development officer last month.
He is responsible for the continued expansion of the luxury lifestyle hospitality portfolio under the Proper, and The Collective brands.
