Radisson Hotel Group has announced the opening of a new flagship Radisson Blu Hotel in Sheffield, UK.
Integrating Sheffield's Victorian heritage with modern amenities, the hotel has been designed by HLM Architects, working in collaboration with Turner & Townsend and McLaughlin & Harvey.
Radisson Blu Hotel, Sheffield features a Victorian façade with views of the town hall and Peace Gardens.
The 154-room property includes a rooftop speakeasy-style Indian restaurant and bar, an outdoor terrace, alongside six meeting and event spaces, as well as a fitness centre.
HLM Architects studio director Delia Harmston said: “The design carefully combines new and old to knit the new hotel architecture into the historic city fabric.
“We are hugely proud to have been involved from inception through to completion of this significant and complex development overlooking Sheffield’s most prominent public space – the Peace Gardens. Without a doubt, the best views in the city are from the new rooftop bar.”
This development is a significant part of the city's £480m ($610m) Heart of the City project, aimed at revitalising the urban centre.
Apart from HLM Architects, Turner & Townsend and McLaughlin & Harvey, the project's partners include Queensberry as a development partner, HOP Engineering for structural and civil engineering work, and Stothers / North West Design.
