Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) has embarked on a significant digital transformation by migrating its entire SAP landscape to Amazon Web Services (AWS) with the help of software-enabled services provider Lemongrass.
This move is set to optimise RHG's operations by utilising cloud-native efficiencies such as automation and data analytics, ultimately aiming to improve customer experiences and loyalty.
The comprehensive strategy behind this migration is to integrate multiple operations into a globally unified and scalable corporate IT infrastructure.
RHG chose Lemongrass for this critical project due to its extensive expertise in migrating, operating, and optimising SAP workloads on the cloud.
Lemongrass manages over 8,000 SAP servers and supports more than 750,000 SAP users, offering near-zero downtime migrations and operations.
RHG has chosen to run its systems in AWS' Stockholm region, which is known for its carbon-neutral operations. This aligns with the group's sustainability goals and governance objectives, enhancing its commitment to environmental stewardship and appealing to eco-conscious stakeholders.
Radisson Hotel Group chief information officer Jaime González-Peralta said: “The transition to AWS is more than just a technological upgrade; it is a transformational shift that empowers Radisson to meet the evolving demands of the hospitality industry. This migration will set a new standard in our operational capabilities, enabling us to significantly enhance our operational agility, and enable us to bring innovative solutions to market even more rapidly.”
Lemongrass will leverage its patented Minimum Downtime Operations (MDO) technology to meet the requirements of RHG's SAP systems, ensuring that the latter's operations remain fully functional with minimal disruption, safeguarding revenue and maintaining secure, performant and available systems.
Lemongrass CEO Michael Rosenbloom said: “Radisson Hotel Group is an innovative leader in the hospitality sector and we are very honoured to be selected to assist them with their digital transformation. We look forward to our continued partnership with RHG and AWS to further modernise and support their SAP and cloud initiatives.”
