Red Sea Global opts for Oracle hospitality tools

Oracle's platform will be initially used by RSG's Thuwal Private Retreat, Shebara and Desert Rock resorts.

Saudi state-backed developer Red Sea Global (RSG) has adopted technology company Oracle’s cloud-based hospitality solutions.

This marks the first time that Oracle's OPERA Cloud Central Hospitality platform will be available within the country, with RSG's Thuwal Private Retreat, Shebara and Desert Rock resorts set to be the initial beneficiaries.

Oracle's decision to invest in the Saudi market by establishing its Oracle Cloud in Jeddah has made this possible.

Red Sea Global Group CEO John Pagano said: “The Oracle Hospitality OPERA Cloud Central platform truly is best-in-class, but until now, it was not accessible to the industry in Saudi Arabia. Oracle was eager to be part of the exciting transformation happening in the Kingdom, especially within the hospitality industry.

“With their expertise and support, we now have the technology in place to deliver exceptional guest experiences, responding to the needs of our discerning visitors before they themselves know what they want.”

The move addresses previous barriers related to data residency rules, which prevented the use of the Oracle Hospitality OPERA Cloud Central platform within Saudi Arabia.

Now, the entire hospitality industry in the nation is claimed to gain from these advanced technological services.

The Oracle Hospitality OPERA Cloud Central platform is designed to consolidate data and functions into a single user interface, offering hoteliers a comprehensive view of their operations.

This includes aspects such as distribution, sales, service interactions, loyalty programmes, and more.

The platform can facilitate quicker decision-making that benefits both staff and guests.

The technology enables the integration of various hotel functions, reducing complexity and improving efficiency.

It offers features such as single image rates and inventory, as well as streamlined management of reservations, groups, and profiles.

By offering a consistent user experience, the platform ensures that information is readily available to all stakeholders at every customer interaction point.

Oracle Hospitality executive vice president and general manager Alex Alt said: “Saudi Arabia is one of the most exciting hospitality market stories in the world today, and by pioneering a regenerative approach to tourism, Red Sea Global is at the heart of that transformation.

“Now, Oracle will be a part of shaping the future of the sector in the region as well, which is why we are investing heavily in bringing our solutions to the Kingdom. Through OPERA Cloud, RSG now has a scalable hospitality platform that empowers its guest services staff to provide faster, hassle-free, personalised experiences.”

Earlier this year, RSG closed a SR2bn (£522m) debt funding agreement with Riyad Bank. These funds are directed towards RSG’s joint venture with Kingdom Holding Company for the development of the Four Seasons Resort at The Red Sea destination.
