Thai property developer Dusit International has set 27 September 2024 as the reopening date for the Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel, following a renovation.
The hotel, part of the Dusit Central Park mixed-use development, has been rebuilt from the ground up.
It has been redesigned by Architects 49 International and OMA Asia Hong Kong, with interior contributions from André Fu Studio and P49 Deesign & Associates.
The reimagined Dusit Thani Bangkok will house 257 guest rooms, a reduction from the original 517.
Additionally, the main pillars of the original hotel’s Benjarong Thai Restaurant have been preserved and incorporated into the new hotel's main lobby.
Other hotel amenities include a spa, ten restaurants and bars, and more than 5,000m² of meeting and event space.
Dusit International group CEO Suphajee Suthumpun said: “As we embarked on its reimagination, we were committed to honouring that legacy while exceeding the expectations of today’s sophisticated guests. This meant meticulously preserving elements of the original hotel and seamlessly blending them with a fresh, modern design.
“Throughout this process, we stayed true to the vision of Dusit’s founder, Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui, and owner, Mr Chanin Donavanik, to showcase Thai culture, art, and gracious service in a way that resonates with contemporary travellers and adapts to evolving preferences.”
Additional components of the Dusit Central Park development such as Dusit Residences, Dusit Parkside, an office tower, and a retail centre are expected to open next year.
Earlier this year, Dusit International unveiled plans to manage a 125-key lifestyle resort in the Maldives.
