Renaissance Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy, has bolstered its presence in the US by opening its fifth property in New York City.

The new property, the Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel, is housed in the Victoria Building, formerly the Victoria Theatre, on 125th Street in Harlem.

It is owned by Lam Generation and managed by Real Hospitality Group.

Located north of Central Park, the property is claimed to be the tallest building in the city and marks the brand’s debut in Harlem.

Designed by AJC to align with Renaissance Hotels' global design approach, the hotel retains the building’s outer facade, marquee, outdoor ticket booth and entrance staircase.

It also pays tribute to Harlem's cultural icons, such as Billie Holiday and Josephine Baker, featuring custom artistic renditions and an art piece on the library ceiling.

Renaissance Hotels global brand leader Jennifer Connell said: “Harlem is a historical epicentre of art, cuisine, music and culture and is of the upmost importance that we stay true to the authenticity of the locale, from the details in the design to our daily programming and entertainment.

“In bringing the Renaissance Hotel brand to this famed neighbourhood, we are inviting travellers near and far to enjoy all that this community has to offer.”

The hotel features 211 rooms, consisting of 107 single rooms, 101 double rooms and three suites.

Guests can dine at the hotel’s restaurant, The Victoria, which is operated by Silk Hospitality Group.

It serves a menu created by executive chef Bobby Bouyer with dishes such as Shrimp n’ Grits, Hot Chicken Sandwich and Pepper Pot Beef Brisket.

The property's cocktail programme, inspired by the area's history, reinvents drinks such as the Jaded Sazerac and Victoria Cosmopolitan with twists, catering to modern taste.

The bar serves a wide selection of wines, ranging from traditional to adventurous choices.

The hotel offers 'Evenings at Renaissance' featuring nightly jazz performances and local arts events celebrating Harlem's culture, inviting both travellers and locals.

It can also host a range of events at its 9000ft² of meeting and event space across five venues that can accommodate up to 300 guests.

Located near LaGuardia Airport, the hotel’s location provides guests access to the subways to reach various NYC landmarks and hidden gems within minutes.

Additionally, the Renaissance Navigator, the hotel's host and local expert, assists in exploring nearby attractions such as the National Jazz Museum of Harlem and more.

Generative AI can improve personalized healthcare by collecting data from patients via wearable devices. These wearables can provide continuous, real-time data that can complement traditional data sources such as imaging, patient records, and more. Generative AI tools can also help healthcare professionals make more accurate diagnoses by finding abnormalities that a healthcare professional may have missed. It can also enhance existing imaging techniques by generating high-quality images of organs using data from low-resolution images (such as ultrasounds).
