Hospitality giant Marriott International has unveiled the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the Middle East on Ummahat Island, Saudi Arabia.

Nujuma, a word which is Arabic for "stars", has a secluded location in the Red Sea's Blue Hole archipelago, renowned for its coral reefs.

The ultra-luxury resort caters to travellers seeking bespoke service, unique cultural immersion opportunities and a deep connection with the surrounding natural beauty.

Nujuma sits within a UNESCO World Heritage site and the world's fourth-largest barrier reef system.

The surrounding waters offer world-class snorkelling and scuba diving adventures.

Beyond this, guests can explore mangroves teeming with birdlife or embark on guided desert excursions.

Designed by Foster and Partners, Nujuma features 63 overwater and beach villas, each offering one to three bedrooms, private pools and sea views.

Every villa comes with a dedicated host to ensure a seamless and personalised stay.

Nujuma prioritises showcasing Saudi Arabian culture and heritage. A dedicated team of local experts leads activities that allow guests to gain unique insights into the region's traditions.

The Conservation House serves as a space for educational programmes led by resident sustainability and cultural experts, fostering a deeper understanding of the destination.

Nujuma's five restaurants celebrate the region's rich culinary scene. From fresh seafood specialties at Tabrah to open-air dining with light dishes at Jamaa, each venue offers a distinct experience.

Neyrah Spa provides a haven for holistic wellness. Guests can enjoy a variety of treatments that incorporate regional ingredients and techniques.

Its general manager Tony Coveney stated: “Nujuma is unlike any other property in the region, a pinnacle of luxury with discovery and sustainability at its core, offering guests a transformative journey into the extraordinary set within the picture-perfect backdrop of Ummahat Island’s natural beauty."
