Hotel chain RIU Hotels & Resorts has completed the renovation of the Riu Caribe hotel in the city of Cancun, Mexico.

The hotel was purchased by RIU in 2003 and underwent a first renovation in 2013.

Its second and latest renovation involved changes to the lobby, common areas and restaurants. The refreshed reception area and lobby provide more natural light and create a sense of space.

It now offers 506 remodelled rooms and a new type of accommodation, the swim-out room, which features a private pool.

The hotel provides five swim-out rooms for guests who want a more exclusive experience.

The renovated Riu Caribe also features adults-only RIU Pool Party events hosted at its dedicated space, which offers an exclusive pool area.

The hotel hosts four weekly parties, both during the day and at night, with themes such as Neon Party, Pink Party, Jungle Party and White Party.

74 other RIU party rooms are available at the property.

Guests can enjoy dining at its renovated restaurants: the Margarita, the Shangri-la, the Kulinarium, Pepe's Food and the Steakhouse.

It also features four bars: a lobby bar called Frida, a lounge bar, a sports bar and an adults-only swim-up bar.

The hotel's amenities also include four pools, sports area, a gym and water activities on its own beach.

The Riu Caribe hotel has been renovated as part of RIU's ongoing effort to modernise all its 22 hotels in Mexico where the group has been operational for more than 25 years.

Riu Palace Pacifico, on the Rivera Nayarit, is the next hotel scheduled for renovation. Work begins in August 2023 and will be completed by December.
