TUI Group’s joint venture partner RIU Hotels & Resorts has opened its first hotel, the Riu Plaza London Victoria, in the UK.
Located in central London, in the borough of Westminster, the 12-floor property was originally built in the 1960s.
The new four-star Riu Plaza London Victoria features 435 rooms and suites that provide city views.
It also boasts a 24-hours fitness centre, a lobby bar, as well as a restaurant that serves a full buffet breakfast and a la carte dinner.
The new property is a few minutes walk from London Victoria Station and at walking distance to many popular sights, such as the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, as well as many other tourist attractions.
It is 24km from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) and 44km from London Gatwick Airport (LGW).
Founded in 1953 in Mallorca, Spain, RIU Hotels & Resorts currently operates 96 hotels across 20 countries.
The Riu Plaza city line brand was launched in 2010 with the opening of its first hotel in Panama.
The new Riu Plaza London Victoria represents the chain’s tenth hotel in this category, joining the other hotels in New York, San Francisco, Miami Beach, Berlin, Dublin, Madrid, Guadalajara and Panama City.
Furthermore, RIU Hotels & Resorts also plans to expand its city hotel line to Toronto and Chicago in the future.
