RIU Hotels & Resorts has reopened Riu Palace Bavaro in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, following an extensive renovation.
The overhaul comes on the heels of the adjacent Riu Naiboa's demolition, allowing the Riu Palace Bavaro to expand onto this plot.
This has introduced a new design and style that RIU is implementing across all its renovations and new hotel constructions.
Riu Palace Bavaro includes 994 rooms, of which 255 are tailored for families and groups of friends.
The hotel now offers a dedicated family area with various water and outdoor activities, food and beverage outlets, and a newly established food court.
This family section also has a Kids’ Club that includes a recreational room and a cupcake decorating station at RIU Art.
All guests at the hotel have access to the Splash Water World water park within the RIU complex in Punta Cana, alongside nine swimming pools at the hotel itself.
Riu Palace Bavaro has also enhanced its dining options, now featuring 32 dining venues, offering Asian, Italian and Mexican cuisines, among others.
The Elite Club service at the property includes an exclusive restaurant for Elite customers.
This offers customers a private pool for 60 of the 108 rooms allocated to them, an exclusive swimming pool with a bar, priority check-in, and a lounge bar.
Additionally, the hotel now features eight bars, including the Sports Bar, Joe’s Bar, the lobby bar, the theatre bar, and three swim-up bars.
RIU currently offers a refreshed portfolio of hotel options in Punta Cana, totalling 4,528 rooms across five properties.
In June this year, Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin completed a revamp, resulting in the addition of 16 new rooms.
