Spanish hotel chain RIU Hotels & Resorts has expanded its global presence with the opening of two new hotels in Mauritius, situated in the foothills of Le Morne Brabant.
The newly launched properties include the family-oriented Riu Turquoise and the adults-only Riu Palace Mauritius.
Riu Palace Mauritius marks the first RIU Palace hotel in this destination and is a four-star establishment with 310 rooms.
It introduces the Elite Club service, which enhances the guest experience with exclusive amenities such as a reserved beach section, a private pool area, a welcome gift, and a dedicated Elite Club restaurant.
Riu Palace guests can access dining options, five bars, two pools, and a comprehensive entertainment programme.
Meanwhile, Riu Turquoise offers 390 rooms and diverse services.
According to RIU, the development of these two hotels involved the demolition of two previous properties, reflecting RIU's commitment to Mauritius since 2014.
With a combined total of 700 rooms, both hotels offer RIU’s 24-hour all-inclusive service.
Sustainability is also a key focus, with 2,418 solar panels installed on the roofs, making these hotels among the most energy-efficient in the chain.
The solar panels are capable of occasionally supplying 100% of the hotels' electricity needs and will significantly contribute to their energy requirements throughout the day.
