Hard Rock International (HRI) has announced the opening of Rocksino by Hard Rock Deadwood in Deadwood, South Dakota.

The company stated that Rocksino by Hard Rock Deadwood will provide a boutique hotel and casino experience to guests who have come to know of the Hard Rock brand but on a smaller scale than its integrated resorts in international cities.

The opening of Hard Rock Deadwood was attended by South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, leaders of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and South Dakota Sioux tribes, music stars and others.

Governor Noem said: "For years, historic Deadwood and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally have given countless individuals the opportunity to vacation and to enjoy the state of South Dakota.

"This new Rocksino by Hard Rock Deadwood will make those opportunities even better for years to come. In fact, as Governor of South Dakota, I am proclaiming today `Hard Rock Day' across the entire state of South Dakota."

The Rocksino by Hard Rock Deadwood features a casino with 86 new slot machines, a full-service restaurant and bar offering craft cocktails, a delicious menu, and music memorabilia.

The Rock Shop onsite the property also sports custom Rocksino by Hard Rock Deadwood apparel. Meanwhile, luxury guest rooms are scheduled to open later this year at the property.

Hard Rock International chief operating officer Jon Lucas said: "Hard Rock prides itself on being able to provide authentic and memorable experiences for our guests embodied by music and rich cultural history.

"We are thrilled to become a part of one of the most celebrated historic places in the U.S. and provide an economic stimulus to the city of Deadwood."

Rocksino partners, Steve Slowey and Marc Oswald brought the Hard Rock brand to Deadwood, which is considered one of the most celebrated Wild West towns in the US.

HRI has 290 locations that include owned/licensed or managed hotels, casinos, Rock Shops, live performance venues and cafes.

The Rocksino by Hard Rock Deadwood celebrated its grand opening with a $40,000 contribution to the Oglala Sioux Tribe Veterans Shelter.

Demand for upscale and luxurious products has been rising steadily in the travel and tourism sector

The theme of premiumization, and the upscale and luxury markets, now have the opportunity to thrive in an industry that has had to rapidly change to meet new changes in traveler demands. The increased need for privacy, a greater focus on health and wellbeing, a desire to tick off ‘bucket list’ experiences, unintentional saving of money, the tendency to take longer trips, the focus on eco-tourism, and an increase in millionaires means the theme of premiumization will continue to grow in importance. The travel industry will experience a surge in demand for higher-end and customized offerings as experiential consumption keeps growing. For many, ‘premium’ means a variety of things. However, it refers to first-rate service, extreme comfort, and one-of-a-kind experiences in travel and tourism. Premiumization is closely linked to luxury travel. While premiumization attracts only a small number of global travelers, it is important for companies as it is a valuable revenue stream that is unlikely to be impacted by external factors like economic downturns. Personalization is key in premium offerings, the shift from focusing solely on premium products to an emphasis on delivering exclusive and personalized offerings is apparent. Therefore, smart destinations can help to create hyper-personalized services and products. Leveraging the Internet of Things, destinations can curate offerings based on gathering real-time data on guest preferences and behaviors. This enables the industry to transcend typical offerings and remain competitive.
