Rosewood Hotel Georgia in British Columbia, Canada, is set to undergo a comprehensive facelift.

Situated in downtown Vancouver, the hotel was temporarily closed on 1 January 2024 and is expected to open again in early April.

Despite the closure, the hotel’s Hawksworth Restaurant and Bel Café will continue to operate throughout the renovation period.

This refurbishment aims to revitalise guest accommodations, the 1927 Lobby Lounge, the hotel lobby, and the Reflections Terrace.

The new design will incorporate a variety of materials, including rich dark wood, polished marble, and plush velvet textures.

In line with the new overhaul, the property's food and beverage venues will be redesigned to pay homage to the city’s cultural heritage.

The hotel's management has engaged the expertise of New York City interior designer Lillian Wu and Vancouver-based Ste. Marie Studio, which specialises in restaurant design.

Lillian Wu Studio will be responsible for refreshing all 156 guestrooms, including the hotel's 22 suites.

Meanwhile, Ste Marie Studio will lead the renovations of the 1927 Lobby Lounge, Reflections Terrace, as well as the lobby area.

The lobby will feature marble and velvet green tones, connecting the front desk and the 1927 Lobby Lounge dining area.

Additionally, the lobby will host a rotating lineup of entertainment on selected evenings.

The Reflections Terrace, previously only open seasonally, will undergo a transformation to extend its availability into the cooler months.

This space will incorporate new design elements, including a new fully retractable roof.

Last May, Rosewood Hotels and Resorts was selected to manage the Rosewood Seoul hotel in South Korea.

Slated for launch in 2027, the hotel will have 250 guest rooms and suites, seven restaurants and bars and 1,800m² of event space, among others.
