S Hotels & Resorts (SHR), a global hospitality company under Singha Estate, has unveiled a $27m renovation plan for its resorts in Thailand and Fiji, as reported by TravelDailyNews.
This includes an investment of over Bt500m ($13.86m) to revamp the design, facilities and guest experiences at its three SAii Resorts in Thailand.
The resorts are SAii Laguna Phuket, SAii Phi Phi Island Village and SAii Koh Samui Choengmon.
Additionally, $12.48m will be allocated to upgrade the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort.
SHR CEO Dirk De Cuyper said: “We are excited to embark on this important strategic project, which is set to raise our standard of hospitality to new levels of international excellence. As a proud Thai hotel management and investment group, our SAii Resorts focus on the authentic elements that make Thailand such a compelling destination for discerning global travellers: its culture, nature and cuisine.
“The renovation of Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort, meanwhile, will reaffirm this property’s position as a destination of choice for experience-seeking travellers. These refurbishment projects will enhance our brand proposition, helping us to attract today’s generation of guests and creating benefits not only for S Hotels and Resorts but for the entire tourism industry.”
The upgrade programme will start this year and continue until 2025.
This plan will include upgrades to guestrooms, restaurants, suites, lobby areas, spas and swimming pools.
The guest room refurbishments are scheduled for the low season to ensure minimal disruption to the resort experience.
The newly revamped premium rooms at SAii Laguna Phuket and villas at SAii Phi Phi Island Village are now available for booking, with stays beginning from December 2023.
SAii Phi Phi Island Village, situated in a 70ha coconut grove on Koh Phi Phi Don, will feature marine conservation-themed decor.
The property’s renovation, themed "Recharge in Your Own Shell", aims to enhance the contrast between rustic architecture and modern interiors.
The resort’s Thai bungalows will feature a nautical design inspired by island life, using sustainable materials such as bamboo and grass for furniture.
Its arrival and departure areas, as well as outdoor infinity pools, will also be revamped.
SAii Laguna Phuket, situated between the Andaman Sea and Phuket's sunset coast, will adopt a modernised traditional lagoon house design.
The renovation will include the introduction of SAii Spa. The resort will also have a SAii Wellness Concierge, offering guests a personalised well-being programme.
SHR expects a 15%-20% increase in SAii Resorts' average daily rate (ADR) in Thailand following the completion of the renovation project.
Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort on Fiji's Coral Coast will finish the renovation of its guest rooms and communal spaces in November 2023.
Upon reopening, the resort will offer guests amenities such as a spa, a lagoon pool, a wedding chapel, tennis courts and a golf training facility.
