The Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek, Salt Lake City, Utah, US, has reached a significant milestone with the completion of the first phase of its multi-million-dollar renovation project.
The ambitious undertaking aims to rejuvenate the hotel, bringing it up to date and enhancing its appeal to both business and leisure travellers.
In the first phase of the renovation, the focus was on an extensive makeover of the guest rooms, hallways and bathrooms. According to Andreo Girardi, the hotel's general manager, this phase aimed to create a "brand-new" experience for today's travellers.
Furniture and bedding were upgraded in guest rooms, and new luxury vinyl tile flooring and wallpaper installed. Significant improvements were also made to the bathroom areas, with expanded doorways, barn-style doors, granite countertops and tile flooring.
In the guestroom corridors, new flooring and wall coverings were added, brightening the arrival area and elevating the overall ambiance for guests.
Aiming to enhance the guest experience
The renovation's primary goal is to provide guests with top-tier amenities and services from the moment they arrive.
The hotel's management, owned by DiamondRock Hospitality Company and operated by HEI Hotel & Resorts, expressed great satisfaction with the outcome, stating that it surpassed their own expectations.
Andreo Girardi is confident that guests will be delighted with the results, offering them a more appealing and comfortable stay.
Upcoming phase two
With phase one now successfully completed, attention turns to phase two of the renovation project. This next stage will focus on upgrading the hotel's lobby, restaurant, bar and meeting spaces.
The expected completion date for phase two is autumn 2024. As the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown continues its transformation, travellers can look forward to a more modern and inviting environment for their future stays.
This renovation project signals the hotel's focus on providing an enhanced experience for its guests and remaining competitive in the ever-evolving hospitality industry.
