Five-star hotel Sanderson London has selected IRIS to streamline its operations and boost in-room food and beverage (F&B) revenue.

IRIS is a digital guest directory, F&B ordering and concierge solutions provider for hotels and restaurants.

Guests at Sanderson London, which is a part of the Ennismore Group, can avail of dining options, including a la carte dishes, afternoon tea, sandwiches and cocktails.

Sanderson London F&B director Alan Hynes said: "IRIS’ online F&B ordering app has enabled us to improve guest services, save labour and maximise revenue opportunities.

“Guests crave comfort, convenience and value; the IRIS app provides them with an accurate and efficient means of ordering wherever they are, from the comfort of their own device. Order accuracy has improved as guests place their own orders and can inform the chefs of any allergies or preferences, thereby boosting the overall experience."

Sanderson London expects to increase revenue further by extending the online ordering facilities to other areas of the hotel, such as the bar area and for business conferences and events.

The hotel, on automating processes with the mobile dining platform, no longer requires staff members to manage phone orders. This capability in turn helps the team to optimise resources, run more sustainably and reduce costs.

IRIS vice-president of sales and marketing Graham Rushin said: "We’re delighted with the results that Sanderson London is enjoying since implementing our mobile dining app.

“As most room service orders are now processed digitally through IRIS, it has enabled the hotel to simplify operations, improve the precision of orders and minimise lost revenue.

“We’re looking forward to working with the hotel to continue to expediate opportunities even further."

Cybercriminals are attracted to a wealth of personal data making the travel sector a prime target

The travel and tourism sector is becoming increasingly digitalized, embracing emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and cloud. As the digital ecosystems of companies grow, they become more vulnerable to cyberattacks. The industry is fragmented, thereby increasing the number of potential entry points for attackers to exploit. Collaboration is vital, and companies must ensure that all their vendors also have suitable measures in place. Per GlobalData estimates, cybersecurity revenues in the T&T sector are forecasted to reach $3.5 billion by 2026.
