Sheraton Hotels and Resorts expands presence in Sri Lanka 

The 320-room Sheraton Colombo Hotel marks the brand’s second property in Sri Lanka.

Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, part of Marriott Bonvoy, has further expanded its portfolio with the opening of its new property in Sri Lanka. 

Sheraton Colombo Hotel, which is located in Colombo's central business and shopping district, marks the second Sheraton hotel in the country.  

The hotel offers 320 rooms and suites, ranging from 36m² to 88m², with each room featuring a 49in flat-screen TV, complimentary high-speed internet, and more. 

It also provides the option to choose a Club Room or a suite which includes access to the exclusive Sheraton Club Lounge situated on the 19th floor. 

Sheraton Colombo Hotel is about a 45-minute drive from the Bandaranaike International Colombo Airport.  

It also provides guests access to nearby attractions such as Viharamahadevi Park, Gengaramaya Temple and Independence Memorial Hall, among others.  

Sheraton Colombo Hotel general manager Rahul Maini said: “The opening of Sheraton Colombo Hotel marks an exciting new chapter as our first Sheraton branded city hotel in Sri Lanka.  

“Colombo is a captivating city in Asia and part of a spectacularly scenic island, teeming with a vibrant culture and majestic scenery ripe for exploration.”

Whether travelling for business or leisure, guests can rely on the Sheraton Colombo Hotel to anticipate their needs while creating opportunities to come together and thrive.” 

In May 2023, Sheraton Hotels and Resorts opened Sheraton Kagoshima in Japan, marking the brand’s 150th property in Asia-Pacific.  

The property has 228 guest rooms and suites, each featuring light wood tones and offering views of Sakurajima and Kagoshima. 

The brand currently has properties across more than 400 communities worldwide.
