Six Senses has entered a hotel management agreement with AUla Development Company to open Six Senses AlUla in Saudi Arabia in 2027.

The agreement was signed by Fabien Toscano, the CEO of AlUla Development Company, which is wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs.

The signing took place at Maraya Concert Hall in the presence of AlUla Development Company managing director Naif AlHamdan.

Jacobs said: “Bringing to life the drama and beauty of a site with unprecedented historical and cultural significance is a sensational opportunity.

“It inspires uncompromising sustainability, well-being and hospitality that ignites the senses in a way that is profoundly emotional. It is exciting to be a new chapter to AlUla’s legacy.”

Toscano said: “We are excited to join hands with Six Senses to open a one-of-a-kind luxury hotel in AlUla.

“The venture aligns with our commitment to elevating the hospitality offering in AlUla and marks another significant stride in our pursuit of sustainable development, contributing to the economic diversification and transformation of Saudi Arabia in line with Vision 2030.”

The hotel is set to open in a natural oasis surrounded by palm groves and red-sandstone cliffs in the city of AlUla.

Six Senses AlUla aims to preserve the cultural and architectural treasures spread across its 1.2-million-square-metre landscape, offering guests an immersive experience.

The hotel will have 100 guest villas and 25 residences, various dining options as well as Six Senses Spa, which will provide locally inspired treatments.

Guests at the property will have access to explore Arabian wonders, read history on tomb walls and enjoy starry nights.

The hotel will also offer activities such as sunrise yoga, singing bowl ceremonies, moon bathing and starlit dining.

Cryptocurrency - The world’s most polarizing technology theme

The globalization and digitization of travel and tourism are both driving the demand for easy-to-use and cheap international transaction processes and payment systems. Tourists are beginning to discover that cryptocurrencies offer such opportunities—by simplifying cross-border transactions and overcoming the associated foreign currency exchange costs. At present, cryptocurrencies are the most advanced application of public blockchains that promise benefits such as a universal means of payment and minimal fees through the removal of intermediaries.
